Capstar Tablets (Cat & Dogs <11kg)
Provides fast relief from fleas.
Research indicates that Capstar is 95%-100% effective 24 hours after a single dose. It starts working within 30 Minutes and 95-100% of fleas are dead within 7 hours.
Indications
* Rapid treatment of fleas on cats and dogs.
* Capstar can be used at the recommended dose in pups & kittens from 4 weeks of age.
* Capstar can be used in pregnant and lactating animals.
* Is compatible with other drugs e.g.heartworm, wormers & products such as Sentinel Spectrum.
Dosage and Administration
CAPSTAR is given orally at the minimal dose of 1mg nitenpyram per kg body weight according to the following table:

Dogs over 57 kg are given an appropriate combination of tablets.
CAPSTAR should be given orally, with or without food, on any day when fleas are seen on the animal. No more than one treatment should be given per day.
If a continuous flea infestation is observed after using CAPSTAR, the attending veterinary surgeon should be consulted for further advice.
Special Precautions and Warnings
For the first hour after administration, the pet may scratch more than normal. This effect is caused by the fleas reacting to the product.
Formulations and Packages
There are 2 tablet strengths available:
- CAPSTAR tablets containing 11.4 mg nitenpyram.
- CAPSTAR tablets containing 57.0 mg nitenpyram.
Both tablet sizes are available in cardboard boxes with 1 aluminum blister containing 6 tablets.
Storage Recommendations and Shelf Life
The shelf life of CAPSTAR tablets is 3 years when stored below 25°C.
