Purpose
Preventic is a collar that uses a unique compound as a specific tickicide to provide ongoing protection of dogs from the deadly Paralysis Tick (Ixodes Holocyclus). Preventic collar uses a slow release technology that allows the active ingredient to be slowly released from the collar over 2 months at a consistent rate every day. The collar prevents the attachment of paralysis ticks during this period.
Active constituents
- Amitraz: 9%
Amitraz migrates on the skin and hair coat of the dog. The ingredient is slowly released from the moment the collar is fitted to the dog and diffuses over the dog within 24 hours. Preventic collars remain effective for 2 months. Preventic is not an insecticide; therefore other means must be used for flea control. Amitraz inhibits the tick from "feeding" on dogs: the tick’s sharp, barbed mouth parts become paralysed and cannot pierce the skin.
Packs
1 collar of 27.5 g (72 cm)
